My Story
After 25 years of coaching and onboarding interns, teams, and volunteers, I was ready for the next challenge. I wanted to work one on one with teens and college students as they prepared for the job market.
I started to see that this age group was not as prepared as they could be and needed a lot more training before their first interview and first day at work. I saw a trend where they were getting in trouble from HR or their direct managers for infractions like cell phone useage and attendance.
When they showed up for interviews they were not dressed correctly or did not respond to interview requests in a timely manner. JAB Career Coaching was designed to help all young people be prepared for the next chapter in their life.
I have worked with Fortune 500 companies and non-profits including Under Armour, VANS, VF Outlet, Aerie and American Eagle, Girls Scouts, the Council on Aging, United States Peace Corps, and the United States Senate. I hold a Bachelor of Social Work and a Retail Marketing Certificate.
When I first graduated college I sent out HUNDREDS OF resumes and only heard back from one.
The pay was low so I accepted a job outside of my degree. I wish there had been more support for me at that time, such as a career coach.
All I knew was that I was supposed to get a degree and go to work, I did not know anything about pay negotiation or how to leverage my internship.
After I got my first “big job” I began to understand how these came into play.
JAB Career Coaching was designed to help others to understand how to navigate the waters during college and after graduation.
